Walt Disney World Wait Times for First Week of November 2024
In case you’ve somehow missed all the MickeyBlog stories, the holidays are upon us at Disney theme parks.
The holiday season creates a rush at the parks, at least in theory.
However, with so much else happening in the world last week, we must acknowledge a chance that things didn’t go according to plan.
Here are Walt Disney World’s average wait times for the first week of November 2024.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
I’ll preface this by saying we were at the parks this week, and our experiences were glowingly positive.
The crowds were a bit larger than I’d anticipated, as there was a runDisney event last weekend.
Those running enthusiasts lingered at the parks a bit longer than usual…and I don’t blame them.
During election season, Disney theme parks are an ideal place to be.
The closest thing you’ll see to a political ad is something like “Mickey for President!” And that’s a platform we can all support.
Anyway, the seasonal changes definitely created a stir at Animal Kingdom, with guests prioritizing the new holiday decorations.
Did that behavior lead to longer lines or shorter ones? The answer isn’t so simple in that the holiday stuff isn’t near the rides.
Here are Animal Kingdom’s average wait times last week:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 67 minutes, up 13
- Na’vi River Journey – 55 minutes, up 5
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 41 minutes, up 7
- Adventurers Outpost – 35 minutes, no change
- Expedition Everest – 29 minutes, no change
- Kali River Rapids – 25 minutes, up 5
- DINOSAUR – 23 minutes, up 4
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 10 minutes, no change
- TriceraTop Spin – 10 minutes, up 1
Overall, park guests stood in line for an average of 33 minutes, which is four minutes more than last time.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The crowds were noticeable at Hollywood Studios, so much so that I’ll tell you (without looking at the data) that I’m sure it increased.
We used Lightning Lane Multi Pass during our visit, and we’re grateful that we did.
On several occasions, we bypassed an estimated wait of 50 minutes or more in favor of the Lightning Lane.
Due to the nature of Lightning Lane as a paid service, we were often in and out of the applicable experience in 15 minutes.
You should keep that in mind when you evaluate the splurge on Lightning Lane. It definitely makes a difference at Hollywood Studios.
Speaking of which, here are the park’s average wait times last week:
- Slinky Dog Dash – 87 minutes, up 23
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 77 minutes, down 9
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – 55 minutes, up 3

- Celebrity Spotlight – 19 minutes, up 3
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue! – 15 minutes, up 3
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 10 minutes, no change
Overall, Hollywood Studios visitors waited for an average of 41 minutes, which is six minutes more than last time.
EPCOT
At EPCOT, the new and improved gathering areas definitely served their purpose.
These were among the most popular places for guests to gather and excitedly share notes about the park’s holiday offerings.
The weather was also a bit mercurial at times, with rainstorms directly impacting some of our EPCOT plans.
So, I’m genuinely curious about EPCOT’s average wait times last week. And here they are:
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – 69 minutes, up 13
- Frozen Ever After – 60 minutes, up 5
- Soarin’ Around the World – 50 minutes, up 11

Overall, EPCOT guests spent an average of 35 minutes standing in line, which is seven minutes or 25 percent more than last time.

Final Thoughts
At Magic Kingdom, only two attractions decreased their wait times from Halloween Week.
In fact, only TRON, Big Thunder Mountain, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster had lower waits this past week. So, the trend here is obvious.
At Magic Kingdom, the average attraction required a wait of 29 minutes, which is four minutes more than last time.
Across the four theme parks, guests waited five minutes more per attraction on average.
So, no matter how much any of us love Halloween, the reality is that the change to Christmas proves a much bigger draw.
While we’ll have ups and downs the rest of the way, the overall trend at Disney World will be for increased wait times throughout 2024.
