Veterans Day 2024: Disney VoluntEARS Pack 2,000 USO Care Kits
In honor of Veterans’ Day and as part of the continued celebration of National Veterans and Military Families Month, Disney is shining a spotlight on some of the ways that it supports our veterans.
Earlier today, we brought you a story about Disney Cast member veterans who make magic happen at Disney Experiences.
Now, however, I want to turn your attention to Disneyland Resort, where Disney VoluntEARS have been working hard to create care kits for deployed service members!
VoluntEARS ans SALUTE Members Pack Care Kits
During a recent VoluntEARS event, Cast Members, including many from the SALUTE veterans employee resource group, packed 2,000 USO care kits to send to service members around the globe.
So far this year, Disney has now assembled more than 21,000 care kits in total!
Additionally, Disney VoluntEARS and SALUTE members in Glendale are assembling 500 care packages with Disney goods and other essentials for Blue Star Families to help welcome military families transitioning into new communities.
A large number of care packages will be sent to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa for families impacted by recent hurricanes.
Disney’s Commitment to Veterans
Ever since Disney was founded in 1923, the company has been committed to supporting the military and honoring our veterans. On this day in particular, it is great to see Disney continuing that tradition over 100 years later.
