Pixar Previews ‘Toy Story 5’ and Reveals an Army of Buzz Lightyears Are Coming
At D23 Brazil last weekend, Walt Disney Studios gave fans a glimpse into the future.
Over the course of the three-day event, attendees were treated to a look at the upcoming live-action Lilo & Stitch, new trailers from Marvel, and even a glimpse at Andor Season 2, which will stream on April 22, 2025.
Then, during the Pixar presentation, audiences were wowed by footage from the upcoming streaming series Win or Lose and Dream Productions and given a glimpse at Elio.
Perhaps most excitingly, however, fans also got a preview of Toy Story 5, which is set to hit theaters in June 2026.
What We Know About ‘Toy Story 5’
While we know that Buzz, Woody, and the rest of Bonnie’s toys are set to reunite for another adventure, the details of the upcoming film’s plot remain under wraps.
When Pixar announced Toy Story 5 last August, they revealed concept art that shows Bonnie neglecting her toys in favor of an iPad.
“Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang’s jobs get exponentially harder when they go head to head with an all-new threat to playtime: technology,” the film’s synopsis reads.
As it turns out, technology is not the only problem that Woody and the gang will have to contend with.
An Army of Buzz Lightyears Is Coming
A new piece of concept art revealed at D23 Brazil shows an army of Buzz Lightyears!
“Fifty commemorative Buzz Lightyear action figures, stuck in toy mode, are searching for Star Command, and they just might make considerable problems for everybody,” Disney teased.
With Andrew Stanton back in the director’s chair, and Woody set to reunite with his old friends, Toy Story 5 will be an adventure that fans don’t want to miss.
The film will hit theaters on June 19, 2026.
