‘Alien: Romulus’ Gets a Hulu Release Date
After successfully breathing new life into the Alien franchise, Alien: Romulus now has its sight set on streaming.
The Fede Alvarez film will be available on Hulu beginning November 21, giving fans to watch the latest chapter in the Alien franchise unfold from the comfort of their own home.
The arrival of Romulus on Hulu is especially notable, as the film was originally intended to be released straight to streaming. Shortly before filming commenced, however, Disney decided to give the film a theatrical release.
A Major Success For Disney
When the film did hit theaters, Alien: Romulus proved to be a much-needed hit for 20th Century. Prior to the film’s release, there was concern that the Alien franchise was no longer relevant, and questions were raised about the financial worth of the series.
Disney’s decision to give Romulus a theatrical release proved the doubters wrong. Eventually, the film would gross $105.3 million at the box office and $350.8 million worldwide. Both numbers far exceeded expectations and made Alien: Romulus the second-most successful Alien film ever (behind only 2012’s Prometheus).
