Disney Submits ‘Agatha All Along’ As a “Comedy Series” For Awards Season — Is Another Season on the Way?
After successfully navigating the Witches’ Road, Agatha Harkness now has her sights set on award season.
According to a new report from Variety, Disney has started its awards campaign for the Kathryn Hahn-led Agatha All Along, submitting the series in the comedy categories for the upcoming Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and next year’s Emmys.

The Marvel Television Studios show will now join a crowded field that will likely include Abbot Elementary, The Bear, and Hacks.
What’s In a Name?
While it is perhaps unsurprising that Disney wants its hit Marvel series to compete at the biggest award shows, this news could point to something exciting for Marvel fans.
Prior to its release, Agatha All Along was marketed as a miniseries with the expectation that, like WandaVision before it, it would only last one season.

According to the Variety report, however, Disney is angling Agatha for comedy series awards, not the limited series gamut.
Is More ‘Agatha All Along’ on the Way?
In order to be eligible for, say, the Television Academy’s Emmy awards, Disney and Marvel would need to prove that more episodes of Agatha were on the way.

Previously, Disney has managed to move its shows into the series categories by announcing that more seasons were in the works. That was the strategy that the studio took with Shogun last year.
In the past, Disney has placed shows like Echo and Hawkeye in the limited series category. Now, it looks like they have a bigger prize in mind for Agatha.
By the sound of things, we should hear more soon.
