Audition Process Begins For New Disney Villains Show Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios
While the new Disney Villain stage show coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been delayed until 2025, it looks like Disney is still working hard to get the show up and running.
Located in Sunset Showcase, the former home of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, the new show will transport audiences to the reflective realm of the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
There, dozens of Disney Villains, including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent, will break through the glass and take the stage.
The last time we checked in on the development of the Disney Villains show, a new permit had been filed for construction at Sunset Showcase.
Now, I am happy to report that Disney has begun the casting process for the show!
The Roles Disney Is Casting For
According to both Playbill and the Disney Auditions website, Disney currently looking to fill the following roles:
Cruella de Vil: Female Identifying. 5’7-5’9. Cruella de Vil, as portrayed in the animated classic, is an eccentric socialite who loves showing off her fashion sense. She longs to surround herself with the finer things in life and will stop at nothing to get her way. This dramatic and devious Villain is as vain as she is persistent. NOTE: Basic Vocal and Musicality Skills Preferred.
Captain Hook: Male Identifying. 5’11 to 6’3. Captain Hook, as portrayed in the animated classic, is determined to get revenge on the boy who robbed him of his hand. As the most infamous pirate of Never Land, Hook holds himself with an air of dignity and pride. This dignified and devious villain is equal parts vengeful and cowardly. NOTE: Vocalist and Musical Theatre Movement Skills Required.
Maleficent: Female Identifying. 5’10 to 6’1. As portrayed in the animated classic, Maleficent (muh-LEFF-uh-sint), mistress of evil, prides herself on being the epitome of villainy. The Timeline
Applications are being accepted through November 15, 2024. Subsequently, in-person callbacks will be held on January 15 in New York City, January 21 in Orlando, and January 26 in Atlanta.
By the look of things, casting should be wrapped up in early 2025. Hopefully, we will see the new show premiere sooner rather than later.
