Tortuga Tavern Returns and Construction Walls Come Down at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar
If you have taken a ride with the scurvy scalawags of Pirates of the Caribbean over the last couple of months, you may have noticed that something was amiss.
After sailing the seven seas and returning to port, guests have been greeted by a collection of construction walls as Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar has undergone a fairly extensive refurbishment.
During the construction, the shop had a minimal amount of merchandise available and largely served as an exit corridor.
Tortuga Treasures Was Born
Guests hoping to find pirate booty were instead directed across the walkway to the former Tortuga Tavern, which was hastily repurposed into a shop named Tortuga Treasures.
Well, I am happy to announce that some of the construction walls at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar have come down, and we now have a glimpse of the shop’s new decor!

As before, the shop sells almost exclusively Pirates of the Caribbean merchandise.
The register counters have been redone and now resemble a mismatched collection of crates and barrels.
Other new decorations, such as pirate flags, have also been added.
While more merchandise is available, the store is still not fully open.
Hopefully, the refurbishment concludes soon!
Tortuga Tavern Returns
With the partial reopening of Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, Tortuga Tavern is once again a great place to relax.
At this time, it remains unclear if the restaurant will ever serve food again or if it will instead be repurposed (perhaps as the long-awaited Pirates of the Caribbean lounge?).
If you have ever grabbed a hot dog at Casey’s and made the mad dash to Adventureland, you know the value of finding a cool table inside Tortuga Tavern.
It’s good to see the location return.
