It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas as the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Is Finished!
Now that another Halloween is in the books and November is here, it is officially time to get ready for the holiday season!
If you have been following along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely monitoring the arrival of Christmas at Walt Disney Disney.
Over the past couple of days, we have seen decor arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs begin to deck the halls, and a ton of new merchandise.
The Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
However, the Disney holiday tradition that I am most excited about is the construction of the gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort!
The last time we checked in on the awe-inspiring structure, bakery artisans and construction crews were hard at work.
Now, less than 48 hours later, I am happy to report that the gingerbread house is finished!
So, let’s take a closer look.
Christmas Comes Early
The year’s Grand Floridian gingerbread house is truly a sight to behold.
The front of the house is majestic, with white trim, a porch, and a balcony.
Small Disney-themed Christmas trees decorate the balcony and patio. Miniature Mickey wreaths also (made of peppermints!) line the shutters.
Here is another look at the balcony. The craftsmanship is amazing!
It wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa!
If you look closely, you will notice that the house’s address reads “1999.” That refers to the first year the gingerbread house was constructed.
The backside of the gingerbread house also features a large sign that reads “established 1999.”
Here is a closer look at the front window and gable. The light emanating from within adds a sense of warmth to the whole structure.
Even the sides of the gingerbread house are breathtaking.
I love the mickey-ear trim!
Finally, here is a look at the structure from above! As you can see, it is amazing from every angle.
If you look closely, however, you can spot a cake atop the structure with a 25 on it. That is a reference to the fact that this year is the gingerbread house’s 25th anniversary!
Here is a video showcasing the structure from above!
Sweat Treats Are Coming
While the Grand Floridian gingerbread house is complete, guests are going to have to wait a little longer to try the resort’s sweat treats.
The gingerbread will officially open for business next week!
I, for one, can’t wait!
