Eight Amazing Reasons to Book the Disney Treasure
On December 21st, 2024, Disney Cruise Line will introduce its latest state-of-the-art vessel.
That’s the date for the maiden voyage of the Disney Treasure, a revolutionary new ship in Disney’s Wish class.

You’ve likely heard about the Disney Treasure and wanted to learn more.
Here are eight reasons you’ll want to book the Disney Treasure.
The Agrabah-inspired Grand Hall

For those of you unfamiliar with Disney Cruise Line (DCL), the Grand Hall functions as the primary gathering space onboard.
Obviously, many of the ship’s locations will attract a crowd due to their comfortable vibe and jaw-dropping amenities.

The Grand Hall is where everyone will organically come and go throughout the day, though.
As such, Disney officials work hard to create majestic environments that add a sprinkle of Pixie Dust to your cruise.

Since you’ll visit the Grand Hall frequently, each trip through the area should stand out.
For the Disney Treasure, Imagineers have chosen an Aladdin theme.

When you board the ship and enter the Grand Hall, you’ll be swept away to Agrabah, the desert paradise.
Well, you’re on a ship. So, there won’t be any desert, but you will notice gold trims everywhere.
Right beside the stairs, a statue shows Aladdin and Jasmine riding their magic carpet. Here’s a video that displays its majesty:
The Grand Hall of the Disney Treasure will look so gorgeous that you’ll never want to leave.
The Haunted Parlor

That’s why Disney has crafted countless other exceptional amenities on the Disney Treasure.
The Grand Hall is so breathtaking you’ll need something memorable to distract you away from it.

So, Disney has stacked the deck with some of its finest themed lounges ever.
Let’s start with the one that will thrill theme park fans. It’s the Haunted Mansion Parlor!
According to the lore, the ship’s captain and his “strange but captivating fiancée” previously owned the parlor.

However, once they disappeared under mysterious circumstances, the new ownership stocked the place with Haunted Mansion tributes.
Superfans of the Disney attraction will discover all sorts of lore and mysteries hidden within this parlor.

You’ll find tributes to Haunted Mansion characters, many of whom have added thematically aquatic touches.
There’s even an aquarium styled after the Haunted Mansion original concept, Museum of the Weird.
The Nightly Presentations
Have you ever watched Disney Seas The Adventure? Here’s a YouTube video of the presentation:
Disney Cruise aficionados know that each ship hosts nighttime entertainment, much of which is Broadway quality.
In fact, some of the presentations are modified versions of Disney’s long-running Broadway shows.

Broadway Shows on Disney Treasure
During the pandemic, Disney posted the full show of Beauty and the Beast:
You can watch both these shows when you take a cruise on the Disney Treasure! Somehow, that’s not even the best part, though.

Disney The Tale of Moana will celebrate the Moana film franchise as a play.
By the time the Disney Treasure embarks on its maiden voyage, Moana 2 will be in theaters.

So, I don’t know whether it’ll have any impact on the story of the play.
Either way, you will LOVE the music. It’ll be a magical way to spend an evening during your cruise.
The Periscope Pub

Photo: Disney
One of my favorite aspects of the Disney Treasure is how much the ship’s design honors the company’s history.
For instance, nothing says Disney more than 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, the 1954 film Walt Disney had wanted to make for years.

Photo: Disney
Disney won an Academy Award for the film’s special effects (and another for Art Direction), cementing the company’s status as tech wizards.
Soon afterward, during Disneyland’s first major expansion, Imagineers built Submarine Voyage based on the film and its ship, the USS Nautilus.

Over the years, park officials have changed the former Submarine Voyage’s Nautilus theme to Finding Nemo.
But anyone sailing on the Disney Treasure can hearken back to a lost Disney/Imagineering era.

You can visit the Periscope Pub, styled after the story of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
To my mind, this is the perfect theme for a cruise ship, and I expect it to prove quite popular, especially among Disneyland loyalists.
The Puns and the Skippers

Photo: Disney
Believe it or not, we still have two other stunningly detailed Disney cruise lounges to discuss.
One of them will delight diehard Disney fans, even as it makes them groan.

When you visit the Skipper Society, you’ll feel like you’re riding Jungle Cruise while at sea.
To a certain extent, you are. After all, it’s a boat ride where someone overwhelms you with puns.

So, when you’re onboard the Disney Treasure, you’re also taking a boat ride.
Then, when you visit the Skipper Society, Cast Members will portray Cruise Skippers, which means the puns will fly.

For Jungle Cruise fanatics, this may be the best lounge Disney has ever built.
For everyone else, at least there are drinks to help you pass the time while you suffer through an endless onslaught of bad jokes.
The Scat Cats and Their Lounge

Finally, we have the ship’s other thematic lounge, the one based on The Aristocats.
This movie has experienced a resurgence in popularity due to its charming portrayal of spoiled but kindly cats.

As a piano bar of sorts, The Scat Lounge will prove that Ev’rybody Wants to be a Cat.
Cat lovers will unite as they enjoy a drink and listen to smooth jazz.
The Rotational Dining

Disney Cruise Line utilizes something called rotational dining to enhance the guest experience.
You won’t eat the same meals over and over again during your trip.
Instead, you’ll rotate between three different options, each providing a delightful dining experience.
Worlds of Marvel puts you in the middle of the action, as you experience Avengers: Quantum Encounter.
The Disney Treasure will add its own unique story, Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix.

Given the popularity of Groot, that presentation is a surefire winner, too.
Then, at 1923, you’ll relish the culinary exploration of some Disney’s finest dishes.

However, if you’re anything like me, you’ll barely pay attention to the flavors.
Instead, you’ll be spinning your head around the room to admire all the pieces of Disney history on display. Just look at it!
Finally, the Disney Treasure will join the Disney Wish in hosting a special “in-the-round” musical presentation.

Photo: Disney
At Plaza de Coco Restaurant, you’ll visit Santa Cecilia, Coco’s home!
The teen musician will come out and tell his story, entertaining you with renditions of some of the film’s most popular songs.

Photo: Disney
Yes, that includes the iconic Remember Me! So, it’s the kind of show you’ll never forget.
Even better, thanks to the “in-the-round” setup, there’s not a bad seat in the house.
The Updated Attraction

Finally, I’ll add that the AquaMouse will return on the Disney Treasure.
This attraction became an instant sensation when it debuted on the Disney Wish. Here’s a ride video of the water coaster:
Now, the Disney Treasure will host its own version, and this one will include a new animated short!

Photo: Disney
Therefore, when the ship sets sail on December 21st, you can experience Curse of the Golden Egg while riding the AquaMouse!
As you can see, the Disney Treasure will redefine immersive theme park-style entertainment at sea.
