Christmas Comes Early as Work Continues on Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Gingerbread House
While the rest of the country is getting ready for Halloween tomorrow, here in the Disney world, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Over the past couple of days, we have shared updates on the new festive new merchandise arriving in stores, the decorations that have gone up at Disney Springs, and even a sneak peek at a fun photo op coming to Disney Jollywood Nights.
My favorite sign that Christmas is coming, however, is that work has already begun on the gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort!
When we visited the resort yesterday, just one day after preparations began, we saw construction crews and bakery artisans working hard.
While it was exciting to see the house’s infrastructure installed, the building had to be decorated.
The Gingerbread Has Arrived!
Now, however, I am happy to report that the gingerbread house team has made amazing progress in just one day! Let’s see what they have been up to!
The smell of gingerbread is once again wafting through the Grand Floridian lobby, as Disney bakery artisans have begun installing the sweet treat.
When we arrived at the resort today, construction workers were completing the frame and installing the TV on the back.
Soon, pastry teams arrived and started adding more siding!
As you can see, gingerbread now lines the majority of the structure’s surface, adding a warm brown hue to the house.
Here is a look at the gingerbread paneling from the side. They have already made an amazing amount of progress.
Nearby, more gingerbread is lined up and ready to go.
We were also able to sport a vat.
Finally, here is a look from the Floridian’s second floor!
Watching the Grand Floridian Resort gingerbread house come to life is truly an amazing experience.
A Time-Honored Disney Holiday Tradition
For 25 years now, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has celebrated the holidays in style with its massive gingerbread house. A Christmas tradition for thousands of guests, the sweets structure is truly a sight to behold.
