Disney Dreamlight Valley Announces NEW Free & Paid Content — And it’s Coming SOON!
It’s been nearly TWO YEARS since Gameloft debuted its cozy-adventure game Disney Dreamlight Valley — and if you haven’t been playing along, you’re missing out on some SERIOUS Disney magic!
The popular game invites players into a magical world where we meet our favorite Disney characters, go on quests, solve mysteries, and design and decorate our own enchanted spaces.
Since the game’s debut, we’ve enjoyed a constant stream of both free and paid content.
Through multiple free updates and the paid Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time expansion pass, we’ve gotten to spend time with some of Disney’s most beloved characters and most nefarious villains, from Mickey and Minnie to Gaston, Tiana, and Wall-E.
As the year draws to a close, fans have been wondering what’s next for the game.
So today, we tuned into the highly-anticipated Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase to get some long-awaited answers!

From upcoming FREE updates to a BRAND NEW paid expansion, there’s plenty to get excited about!
We’ve got A LOT to cover, so let’s get started!
Dreamlight Valley’s New FREE Update is ‘Sew Delightful’
Dropping on Wednesday, December 4th, Dreamlight Valley’s FREE ‘Sew Delightful’ update will welcome another new villager to the Valley!
Yup, that’s right! We just got our very first look at Sally from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
When Sally arrives in the Valley, she’ll come complete with her own quest line and friendship rewards.
Even better? Players will finally get the chance to reunite her with Jack Skellington, who arrived in the Valley late last year.
If you’ve been playing Disney Dreamlight Valley long enough, you know that each free update brings a brand new Star Path.
Come December, we can expect new tasks and new rewards, all themed to the “ethereal side of the season.” This includes icy new furniture and even a magical new wand that produces SNOWFLAKES!
New characters and items are always super exciting, but the ‘Sew Delightful’ update will also include some EXTRA SPECIAL quality-of-life improvements.
If you’re running out of room in your Valley, you’re going to LOVE the game’s NEW Floating Islands! Yup, you read that right – I said FLOATING ISLANDS!
Floating Islands are described as additional spaces in the Valley where we can decorate and play. Extensions of the Valley’s existing biomes, Floating Islands are purchasable with Dreamlight AND will have independent object limits (!). We’ll get FOUR islands with the new update (Plaza Island, Forest Island, Sunlit Island, and Frosted Island), while the rest will be rolled out over time.
And in case you were wondering, YES — players WILL be able to travel to Floating Islands during Valley Visits! We’ll also be able to decorate our Floating Islands with all existing and new decor — INCLUDING character houses.
Finally, Gameloft is FINALLY delivering a design tool that players have been begging for since the game’s debut!
When the new update drops, we will be able to place houses, buildings, furniture, landscaping, and more…at MULTIPLE ANGLES. Not just standard diagonal, either — items will now have 16 points of rotation!
2025 Free Content Road Map
For a closer look at the FREE content coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley in the next year, here’s a look at the 2025 Road Map:
Based on these not-exactly subtle hints, it’s pretty clear that we’ll see Aladdin and Jasmine join the Valley in early 2025, the Cheshire Cat (and possibly Alice?) in Spring 2025, and FINALLY unlock the mystery of Skull Island in Summer 2025.
NEW Storybook Vale Paid Expansion Pass
Obviously, there’s A LOT of new free content coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley over the next year. But if you’re willing to shell out a few bucks for the next paid expansion, you’ll have even more magical content at your fingertips.
Coming on Wednesday, November 20th, Disney Dreamlight Valley: Storybook Vale will bring new adventures, new biomes, and new Disney characters!
In Part One of the two-part expansion, we’ll meet Flynn Rider from Tangled…
…Merida from Brave…
…and the nefarious and hilarious Hades from Hercules…
We’ll also reportedly encounter Maleficent in Part One, but she won’t join the Valley until Part Two when she enters the Valley with another new villager.
Could this be a hint?
In addition to the new characters, players will also unlock three immersive new biomes.
The Bind features a beautiful, autumnal forest complete with a rich, warm color palette…
…while Everafter is a glowing, fae-like forest inspired by Scottish and Scandinavian folklore.
Finally, Mythopia features Greco-Roman architecture and gorgeous rolling fields.
Of course, these new environments will include new resources and new dishes to cook.
We’ll also enjoy new critters, like the adorable, origami-inspired Snippets (and a new Royal Net to help catch them!)…
…along with new animal companions like owls…
…and mythical mini Pegasi and mini dragons!
How to Get the NEW Expansion Pass
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s new expansion pass will drop on Wednesday, November 20th.
At that time, players can choose from the base expansion pass or the Magical Edition, which will include the following special bonus content:
In addition, early birds will score the exclusive Keeper of Lore Outfit if you purchase and play the expansion by November 30!
