Disney World Files New Permit for DinoLand USA
Walt Disney World has just filed a new permit with the South Florida Water Management District and is outlining the plans for DinoLand USA in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
This also includes the layout for the Tropical Americas land also coming to the area.
DinoLand USA
Disney previously announced that DinoLand USA would be demolished in multiple phases. The first phase to go is the Dino-Rama section, which will be closed beginning in January of next year.
DinoLand Permit
In preparation for the new land and construction, TriceraTop Spin, \ Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will permanently close on January 12, 2025.
The permit site includes the demolition of TriceraTop Spin, additional backstage trailers, and some additional themed signage as part of the phase 1 demo.
DinoLand Permit
This is the first step of the area’s transformation, which will make way for the new Encanto-themed attractions and open in 2027.
Tropical Americas
The new Tropical Americas land will see plenty of new offerings, including an Indiana Jones attraction, a new Encanto attraction, and an animal-themed carousel.
The new Animal Kingdom land will be set in the fictional Pueblo Esperanza, which loosely translates to Village of Hope.

The permit (filed under the name “Project Ro”) shows a colorful graphic that highlights the area’s predevelopment and post-development. Check it out below:

The post-development graphic shows a large building for the upcoming Encanto-themed attraction and a building for the carousel.
The permit also examines the construction’s environmental impacts and the necessary measures to protect the surrounding Animal Kingdom area.
