The Holiday Season Is Magical
Nobody does the holidays like Disney, and I’m voting with my wallet on this one.
Each year, I try to visit Disney just in time to watch the holiday decorations appear throughout the parks and resorts.

Disney theme parks are called The Happiest Places on Earth for good reason, but they’re somehow more magical during the holidays.
Every resort offers unique décor and experiences, each of which nourishes your holiday spirit.

You’ll find the Merry Menageries at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and a giant Christmas tree at Main Street, U.S.A.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Hollywood Tower Hotel provides a splendid visual spectacle thanks to its digital projections.

Meanwhile, EPCOT’s landmark, Spaceship Earth, illuminates the night with its holiday colors and special effects.
Disney also hosts after-hours events like Disney Jollywood Nights and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, both of which your family will treasure.

I don’t know when you and your traveling party last visited. Still, odds are phenomenal that Disney has added something new.
Over the past few years, the parks have introduced new experiences like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Journey of Water | Inspired by Moana, and TRON Lightcycle / Run.

In 2024 alone, Disney has introduced Country Bear Musical Jamboree and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
You’ll find new restaurants like Summer House on the Lake and The Cake Bake Shop.

Disney has also reworked some of its resorts, constructing the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
At EPCOT, you’ll find new buildings such as CommuniCore Hall & Plaza, the new hosting facility for the park’s festivals.

These attractions and experiences have debuted after a decade of Disney expansions, the best of which I’ve previously ranked.
In short, Disney incrementally improves every few months, and if you’re heading to Disneyland Resort this holiday season, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is debuting soon, too!

Per Walt Disney’s instructions, the parks remain in a constant state of flux to make them that much better.
So, your holiday vacation memories can include the fond memory of, “And we rode that right after it opened!”
The Weather
I don’t know where you live, but let’s be honest that December can be brutal in many parts of North America.
You’ll wear lots of layers as the temperature dips below freezing, possibly for the first time all year.

Then, when it snows, you’ll spend part of your day scraping the ice off your car and shoveling your driveway.
When you celebrate the holidays at home, the weather can wreak havoc with your plans.

Folks, the odds of real snow falling at Disneyland and Walt Disney World are nearly zero.

Snow in Central Florida isn’t really a thing, but it’d be a Disney holiday movie waiting to happen if it ever did.

My family is nothing short of a marvel. My elderly mother still serves holiday meals for 10-15 guests. She’s superhuman.
Normal people like me and (probably) you don’t do that. We know how overwhelming it is to act as the host/hostess during the holidays.
