Disneyland May Be Considering Adding a Haunted Maze to Future Oogie Boogie Bash Parties

Disneyland Resort is already the ultimate place to spend Halloween, with spooky attraction overlays, festive decor, and, of course, the chance to attend Oogie Boogie Bash.

However, according to a new report from the OC Register, Halloween at Disneyland may soon get even more spooktacular!

A Disneyland survey recently sent to Oogie Boogie Bash attendees asked for their opinion on a slew of potential new offerings, including a Hocus Pocus or The Nightmare Before Christmas stage show, more Halloween-themed parades, nighttime spectaculars, and ride overlays. Perhaps most interesting, however, was Disney’s inquiry into fans’ interest in a haunted maze.

Disneyland Has Never Offered  a True Haunted Maze

While haunted mazes have become a staple of Halloween at Knotts Berry Farm and Universal Hollywood (not to mention innumerable pumpkin patches across the country), Disneyland has never offered a full-blown haunted maze.

Villains Grove, during Oogie Boogie Bash, does allow guests to take a spooky stroll through Disney California Adventures’ Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. The walk, however, is more atmospheric than scary and doesn’t include physical characters.

Disneyland Resort hosts the Ghoul House haunted maze one night every year. However, that event is Cast Member-exclusive.

What Do You Think?

Should Disney decide to go the haunted maze route, it is unlikely that they will attempt to reach the horrifying heights of the mazes at Universal’s Horror Nights or Knott’s Scary Farm. Instead, the maze could give fans a chance to come face-to-face with some of their favorite Disney villains. Perhaps happy haunts would even materialize.
