Year-Long Refurbishment Continues at Bay Lake Tower in Disney World
The year-long refurbishment of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort officially kicked off last month, with the promise that the resort would look fresh and modern when the work was completed.
As Bay Lake Tower will remain open during the renovations, Disney has previously warned guests that minor inconveniences may result from the work.

“From September 2024 to September 2025, room refurbishment work will take place in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. During this time, Guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower. Please allow extra time for travel as alternate paths may be utilized,” the Walt Disney World website explains.
The Latest From Bay Lake Tower
When visiting the DVC resort today, we noticed that truckloads of old furniture were being taken away, seemingly to make way for the refreshed new look coming to the Bay Lake Tower guest rooms.
During the renovation, Bay Lake Tower’s rooms are expected to receive an upgrade and cosmetic lift.

In addition to the furniture, we could also see that specific room windows were tarped off as work continued inside.
Work Will Continue Until September 2025
Finally, we spotted a large crane near the balcony facing Magic Kingdom. Planters are currently closing off the area.

As the Bay Lake Tower refurbishment is expected to last until next September, it looks like Disney will be doing work in increments.
