‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Finally Gets a Disney+ Release Date
With Agatha All Along winding down on Disney+, Marvel fans have already started looking ahead.
Up next on streaming will be the long-awaited Daredevil: Born Again, which, after undergoing a creative overhaul, will continue the story of the original Netflix Daredevil series that ran from 2015 through 2018.
Originally announced in July 2022, Daredevil: Born Again was initially set to reboot the franchise, giving Charlie Cox’s titular hero a chance at a fresh start as he entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The Creative Overhaul
During last year’s SAG-AFTRA strike, Kevin Feige and other Marvel executives reportedly viewed the nine completed episodes of Daredevil: Born Again and decided that a creative overhaul was needed.
Eventually, the studio parted ways with head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman before bringing in Loki’s Justin Benson and Moon Knight’s Aaron Moorehead to helm the project.
Perhaps more significantly, the studio also decided to transform Daredevil: Born Again into a continuation of the original series. This not only meant bringing in familiar faces like Deborah All Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy), and Jon Bernthal (Punisher) but also deeming the entire Netflix Defenders saga canon.
When Will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Premiere
Following the creative overhaul, the big question surrounding Daredevil: Born Again has been the show’s release date.
Earlier this year, Marvel revealed that the show would hit Disney+ sometime next year. However, that wasn’t enough for fans who have waited years for the series.
At New York Comic Con last weekend, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio (who will reprise his role as Kingpin in the series) surprised guests with a special appearance at the Marvel Fanfare with C.B. Cebulski.
There, Cox finally announced that Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on March 4, 2025.
While Marvel fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see how the next chapter of the MCU unfolds, Daredevil, Kingpin, and Punisher are coming back.
I, for one, can’t wait!
