Disney Channel Cancels a Hit Marvel Series
Another day, another Disney Channel show canceled.
Just weeks after Disney announced that Hailey’s On It! would not be returning for a second season, another series, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, has been canned following a two-season run.

Based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name, the animated show follows the adventures of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette, aka Moon Girl, who accidentally brings a red T. Rex (Devil Dinosaur) into modern-day New York City. Together, they form a dynamic duo to protect the Lower East Side.
The Show Was a Critical Darling
Originally debuting in February of 2023, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur has been lauded by fans and critics alike. The series currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite the accolades, Disney has canceled Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur after two seasons.
The News Broke on X
The news was broken on X after user DisneyToon told fans to enjoy the show’s second season as Disney was wrapping up the series.
Make sure to savor S2B when it releases as Disney has decided not to move further with more episodes.
Season 2B (originally ordered to be a S3) releases next year on Disney Channel. It’s taking longer since they were added to the original episode order.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur director Samantha S. Lee then confirmed the news.

More Episodes Are Coming
While Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur will end after two seasons, that does not mean more episodes are not on the way.
According to reports, a second batch of Season 2 episodes, originally intended for the show’s third season, will be released next year.
