The film will be written by Simon Farnaby, Jon Crocker, and King.
Will the Film Be Connected to ‘Cinderella’?
At this time, it is unclear if Prince Charming will be set in the world of Cinderella or if it will be another iteration of the character. It does not appear, however, that the film will have any connection to Disney’s previous live-action Cinderella film.

The moniker Prince Charming has also frequently been applied to the royal suitors in both Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (The Prince) and Sleeping Beauty (Prince Phillip)
Disney’s Live-Action Plans
In the wake of Sean Bailey’s exit from Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, the prevailing notion was that Disney would move away from live-action remakes of its animated films. Subsequently, Disney quietly shelved its plans for a live-action Sword in the Stone and a photo-realistic remake of Bambi.

Still, plans for a live-action remake of Moana have continued to move forward. The film is expected to hit theaters next year. Additionally, rumors continue to swirl that a live-action Frozen could be on the way.

While a Prince Charming film would not be a remake of a previous animated film, it would show that Disney is not averse to mining its properties for more content.
