Ben Stiller’s Holiday Comedy ‘Nutcrackers’ Gets Official Release Date on Hulu
Hulu grabbed headlines last month when Deadline announced that it had acquired Nutcrackers at the Toronto Film Festival.
The family holiday comedy from David Gordon Green stars Ben Stiller, Linda Cardellini, Edi Patterson, and Tim Heidecke. It was chosen to kick off the prestigious film festival and received rave reviews from those in attendance.
In addition to marking Stiller’s return to acting after a seven-year hiatus, Nutcrackers was inspired by real-life siblings Homer, Ulysses, Atlas, and Arlo Janson.

Green was inspired to create the film based on the children’s real lives after being family friends with their mom for years. Nutcrackers was even then shot in Janson’s house and dance studio.
The Story of ‘Nutcrackers’
The film tells the story of Michael Maxwell (Stiller), a workaholic from the city who is forced to move to rural Ohio to take care of his late sister’s children.

With Christmas just around the corner, Michael initially sets out to find adoptive parents for the children. Much to his surprise, Maxwell learns that the four boys (played by the Janson siblings) have a talent for ballet. Eventually something inside Maxwell begins to change, and he decides that Ohio is where he belongs.
When Will the Film Stream?
Today, Hulu confirmed Deadline’s report and announced that Nutcrackers will debut on the streaming service on November 29, 2024, just in time for the holidays!
Internationally, the movie will be available on Disney+.
