BREAKING: Closing Dates Announced For DinoLand Locations in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
The transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into the new Tropical Ameircas land will officially begin on January 13, 2025.
In preparation for the new land’s arrival, TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will permanently close on January 12, 2025.
A note on Disney World’s webpage notes that the attractions are closing for the new Tropical Americas land, which will open in 2027.

While it has long been known that a Tropical Americas land was coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, this is the first concrete date that Disney has unveiled.
Tropical Americas Are Coming
When completed, the new Tropical Americas land will see Dinosaur transformed into an Indiana Jones attraction, a new Encanto attraction, and an animal-themed carousel.
Like the Africa and Asia sections of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the new Tropical Americas will be set in the fictional Pueblo Esperanza, which loosely translates to Village of Hope.

“The space will be lush and sprawling, featuring a large fountain in the center where the villagers like to gather and tell stories,” Disney teased at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event
DINOSAUR and the Rest of DinoLand Will Remain Open (At Least For a While)
While construction walls will go up in DinoLand on January 13, 2025, DINOSAUR, the Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites will stay open through the early construction.
Still, the countdown to extinction for DinoLand has officially begun. So, make sure you visit the land while you still can!
