VIDEO: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Got Hit Hard by Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton hit Florida overnight, with the storm proving to be as intense as everyone feared.
Since the storm has officially passed through Disney World, we’re able to see the damage Hurricane Milton caused around the resort. While some resort hotels were damaged so badly that guests had to be evacuated in the middle of the night, others withstood the storm well–despite the intensity.
Hurricane Milton at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
JustThemeParks on TikTok posted a video of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort during last night’s storm:
@justthemeparks Hurricane Milton is here at Walt Disney World! We’re staying safe in our room at the Art of Animation & hope everyone else in Florida is safe too! We’d also like to say a huge thank you to all the cast members who are working through the hurricane and those who kept the Magic Kingdom open this morning! The small queue’s definitely helped distract us! ❤️😂 Trust us to time our vacation during a hurricane! 🌀 #hurricanemilton #wdw #waltdisneyworld #artofanimation #disneyparks #themeparks ♬ original sound – justthemeparks
As you can see, the resort hotel was hit hard by Hurricane Milton. Despite that, the hotel remained mostly intact–excluding some downed branches. The same account shared their entire hurricane experience, including what Art of Animation looked like this morning.
@justthemeparks A week into our stay at Walt Disney World’s Fort Wilderness Cabins, we began to receive the news that a hurricane was heading our way. Unfortunately, these predictions became a reality and everyone had to move from the tree covered camp grounds. We were relocated to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and got to safely wait out the hurricane in a Finding Nemo themed room. We hope everyone in Florida stayed safe in Hurricane Milton! #hurricanemilton #waltdisneyworld #disneyworld #wdw #disneyparks #florida ♬ original sound – justthemeparks
Other areas around Disney World weren’t so lucky–like Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, which had to evacuate guests in the Aotearoa building due to part of the roof peeling back.
Overall, the resort seemed to weather the storm quite well! Stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com as we continue to bring you the latest from the resort.
