UPDATE: New Wind Advisory Issued for Walt Disney World
Hurricane Milton has passed through Central Florida leaving its impact across the entire state. The intense storm spawned multiple tornadoes, flooding, intense rains, and damage.
As the state, already recovering from Hurricane Helene, attempts to clean up after Milton, the area is still under various weather warnings and advisories.
This afternoon, a new wind advisory has gone into effect for Walt Disney World.
Weather Update
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Walt Disney World and multiple counties in the state of Florida through 8 PM this evening.
The area can expect Northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 to 45 mph.
The intense gusty winds have the potential to blow around unsecured objects, causing damage and making driving difficult.
Locals and guests in the area are encouraged to shelter indoors until further notice.
Walt Disney World
On Wednesday, the Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs closed as the Category 4 storm approached the Sunshine State and remain closed today.
Disney posted online, “On Thursday, October 10, our theme parks and Disney Springs will remain closed, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be canceled (event tickets will be refunded).”
Disney also said that the expiration date for partially used multi-day tickets will be adjusted to October 11th, 2025.
In addition to the theme parks, both water parks, the mini golf courses, and the Disney Springs parking garages are closed.
