Some Guests of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Were Evacuated Last Night Due to Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton hit Florida last night, bringing destruction with it. From tornadoes to flooding, the storm proved to be as significant as feared.
The hurricane’s effects were felt all over Florida–including at the Disney World Resort. While most resort hotel guests could wait out the storm without issue, others had to evacuate overnight–here’s what we know.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
A Facebook post created by Tikiman’s Unofficial Polynesian Resort Pages reported that some guests of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort were evacuated last night. The storm’s winds were so intense that part of the Aotearoa building’s roof peeled back. (Photo courtesy of Jason Hightower.)
According to another Facebook user, Chelsea Sadowski, a Kona Cafe Cast Member shared that affected guests were evacuated to other buildings or the Great Ceremonial House for the rest of the storm.
We hope all affected guests are doing well and the building can be restored quickly! And we’re continuing to report on Hurricane Milton’s effects around the resort, so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com.
