Orlando International Airport Suffered Only Minor Damage From Hurricane Milton
In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, Orlando International Airport (MCO) has been steadily preparing to resume normal operations.

Operational Update/8 – Hurricane Milton
Although we’ll receive a few domestic arrivals this evening, no departures or international flights will occur. Please don’t come to the airport for a departing flight tonight. Pleading with travelers not to show up at the airport for departing flights on October 10, MCO announced that departures will resume on October 11. The airport is encouraging travelers to check with their airlines to confirm updated travel information.
Orlando International Airport Only Suffered Minor Damage
Considering the wake of the devastation that Hurricane Milton left in its path, the fact that the airport will be running again this evening, even partially, seems like something of a miracle.

Luckily, it looks like MCO avoided any major damage from the hurricane.
This afternoon, the airport released a press release revealing that Orlando International Airport only sustained minor damage from Milton, including “a few leaks and downed trees.”

Thankfully, the airport campus largely withstood the storm. Additionally, crews have been hard at work clearing roadways and ensuring travelers’ safety.
Travel Will Resume in Full Tomorrow
By the sound of things, MCO should be back to business as usual when it fully reopens on October 11. Hopefully, travel will be quick and easy for those who can finally fly in and out of Orlando again.
