Orange County and Walt Disney World Under Tornado Watch
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 9 PM for Orange County and Walt Disney World.

The watch extends to East Central Florida and includes Brevard, Seminole, Lake, and Volusia counties.
Weather Update
Category 4 Hurricane Milton is quickly approaching Florida, and the state is already feeling the effects.
For the past 24 hours, the storm has fluctuated between a Category 4 and Category 5 hurricane. Today, it weakened to a Category 4 system and has held that strength since.

As Milton approaches the state, “tornadic supercells” are beginning to sweep across the southern portion.
In addition to the Tornado Watch, Disney World is under a Flood Watch, Hurricane Warning, and severe weather advisory.
Florida Impact
Milton is expected to hit Florida’s west coast tonight and then travel through Central Florida on its way to the Atlantic Ocean.
Thousands of Floridians have evacuated or completed preparations for the approaching storm, and the state is bracing for one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded.
The storm’s outer bands are already hitting the coast, with tropical storm-force winds and heavy rain that will come in full force by the afternoon.
Top federal weather and emergency officials warned that conditions in Florida will soon start to deteriorate rapidly.

There are 1,000 federal personnel stationed in Florida, and the Biden administration is adding additional resources.
There are 1,200 search and rescue personnel from various federal agencies, 500 ambulances, and 30 high-water vehicles, helicopters, and boats positioned and ready to assist after the hurricane hits.
