Best Times to Visit Disney World in 2025
Walt Disney World just announced several exceptional discounts for 2025 vacations.
I know from looking at our newsletter traffic that many of you are interested, and you’re all probably wondering the same thing.

When should you go?
So, here are some of the best times to visit Walt Disney World in 2025. Please keep in mind that the hidden answer is that ANY time is a great time to visit Disney, though!
Early January
Nobody ever believes me, but I’m dead serious. The second week of January is arguably THE best time to visit Disney World all year.
That’s a wild take that I know confuses many, but hear me out.
A few days after New Year’s Day, guests return to their normal lives after the holidays. When that happens, the parks clear out.
Meanwhile, it’s early January everywhere else in the continental United States, so you’re freezing.
Florida, on the other hand, is not. Go to Disney, it’s better.
Late January
Late January is a lot like early January, only it’s slightly more crowded.
The reason why is the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.
When you wait three more weeks for your visit, you’ll gain access to EPCOT’s most underrated festival.
That’s a good trade.
Valentine’s Day
Everyone deserves a little romance.
When you visit Disney World around this time of year, you’ll learn that the Orlando campus is quite the lovers’ paradise.

Sweet Heart Donut
Disney offers plenty of romantic options, including in-room deliveries, fireworks parties, and all sorts of exclusive Valentine’s treats.
You’ll also find unique hotel room options, like Studio Duos and in-water Bungalows.
To a larger point, you’ll win Valentine’s Day the instant you tell your partner you’re spending the holiday at Disney World.
Spring Break
I wouldn’t describe this time as an ideal one to visit Disney, but let’s be real.
Many parents don’t have a choice.

For a lot of you, the only possible Disney visit from January through May is Spring Break.
So, you might as well lean into it and start fantasizing about your dream vacation during those cold winter months.
The good news about Spring Break is that it’s not an official holiday in the United States or Canada.
So, Spring Break dates vary by school system.

Spring Break Crowds in Magic Kingdom
That keeps the crowd levels in check, unlike another holiday we’ll discuss later in the year.
Early May
Not everyone is a parent, which gives many of you more options in planning your Disney visit.
While most people lean hard toward the summer, I’d argue that early May is a superior time to visit.

Flower and Garden Festival – Spring
You’ll find smaller crowds since school remains in session.
Also, perhaps more importantly, early May heat is nowhere near Florida summer heat.

Pluto topiary – Flower and Garden Festival
I understand that not everyone wants to take their vacation barely one third of the way through the year, but Disney is worth the exception.
You’ll even get a bonus for visiting during early May, as the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will be well underway.
Early June
The same thought process applies to early June.
As soon as your child’s school year ends, pack the luggage and head to Disney.

Magic Kingdom Entrance Gates
Many parents wait until later in the month. Not coincidentally, the last two weeks of June have been Disney’s most crowded in 2023 and 2024.
You can beat the crowds by going earlier.
Mid-August
Similarly, the crowds typically die down in early August.
School years start earlier these days, which means families cluster in late June and July.
You can sidestep the crowds by waiting until mid-August, presuming that you’re either childless or have a school that starts later.
I should say that Disney is still quite hot in August, but you gain the benefit of the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, the park’s signature event.
September
When you want to visit Disney at its emptiest, September is the best month. Period. Full stop.
That’s a happy coincidence, because you’re statistically most likely to have a birthday in September. You can look this up, people!
Many of the most popular birth dates each year fall in September, presumably because it’s cold during the winter.
So, when you visit in September, there’s a decent chance you can wear a celebration button and get treated like royalty during your visit.

Even if that’s not the case, Disney should be cooling off by then, and the parks are less crowded.
As proof, the average wait time at Magic Kingdom at the end of September was about 23 minutes.

Cinderella Castle
Shop around. You can’t beat THOSE prices.
Halloween
Those of you who have been reading my writing for a while know where I’m going with this.
You’ll often find me at Magic Kingdom on Halloween night, celebrating Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
We waited too late this year, and so we won’t arrive until early November.
However, I swear by the late October visit, as it provides the best of both worlds.
During the first couple days of your visit, you’ll see plenty of Halloween decorations.
Then, during the witching hours between October and November, Cast Members convert the parks to Christmas decor.
So, you get half Halloween and half Christmas, the perfect combination.
Mid-November
Then again, you could wait a couple of weeks and go all in on the Christmas holiday season.
While Disney parks post most of their decorations during the first week of November, the Christmas season hasn’t officially begun yet.
By the middle of November, all the gingerbread decorations should be up at the hotels, and the specialty holiday treats will be available for sale.
Even better, holiday events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights will be underway.

Grand Floridian
For those of us who watch Hallmark Christmas movies all year round, this is one of the best times to visit Walt Disney World.
Early December
Along those lines, you can wait two MORE weeks until after Thanksgiving.
That’s the quiet period before Disney parks enter the busiest season of the year.
In early December, you can do everything holiday-related, but for some odd reason, the parks are typically less crowded than in mid-November.
The thought process is that tourists either visit for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
They generally skip the dates in between those times.
Christmas Week
Finally, we have the most magical option on the list.
Christmas week at Walt Disney World is when the parks are the most crowded all year…and for good reason.
Guests have ample vacation time, and it’s easier for Disney to host their families than to do it themselves.
So, you get all the benefits of the family gathering with none of the overhead.

Holiday time in Magic Kingdom
Everyone simply meets at Disney and has the time of their lives.
Although the parks are at maximum occupancy, there’s an energy that makes the whole thing unforgettable.

I have friends who do this every year and they swear by it.
Even better, you’ll start the New Year at Disney, and what could be better than that?
