Walt Disney World Is Waiving Resort Change and Cancelation Fees as Hurricane Milton Approaches
With Hurricane Milton officially designated as a Category 4 storm and Disney World currently in the path of the hurricane, Disney is bracing for impact.
The latest update from Walt Disney World still says that the resort is operating under normal conditions. However, as Disney continues to monitor the hurricane, they are also taking precautions.

Yesterday, Disney World announced it was pausing hotel reservations for Wednesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 10. Park pass reservations and new ticket sales have also been blocked for Wednesday.
Now, Disney is making another change.
Disney World Is Waiving Change and Cancelation Fees
As the resort continues to prepare for Milton’s arrival, Disney has announced that it is waiving change and cancelation fees for guests with check-in dates from Sunday, October 6, through Saturday, October 12.
UPDATE: As 3:30PM on October 7, Disney extended the policy to include check-in dates between October 6 and October 13.
“Due to potential weather impacts to guest travel plans, change and cancellation fees imposed by Disney will be waived,” Disney’s update reads.

“Most room-only and vacation packages can be modified, or canceled online, including changes to travel dates, without fees. Packages including air transportation or other services provided by third parties, or those with travel protection, cannot be modified or canceled online. For Guests with these reservations please call for assistance.”
The latest update from Disney is in line with Disney World’s standard hurricane policy.

“If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area—or for your place of residence—within 7 days of your scheduled arrival date, you may reschedule or cancel your Walt Disney Travel Company Disney Resort hotel packages and most room only reservations (booked directly with Disney) without any cancellation or change fees imposed by Disney,” the policy reads.
Milton Is Coming
With Hurricane Milton currently on track to impact Walt Disney World, the resort’s closure seems likely.
For now, however, Disney is making it as easy as possible for guests to change their plans and stay safe.
