Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village Now Undergoing Refurbishment

There are a lot of changes and updates happening right now at Walt Disney World.

Updates include everything from classic attractions like The Jungle Cruise being refurbished to daily construction happening at the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Village.

Walt Disney World is always progressing, and we have one more update that may impact your vacation in the next few months.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village Under Refurbishment

Animal Kingdom Lodge is under refurbishment for the rest of 2024. The exterior of the resort will be refreshed from September to late December 2024.

The most significant impact is that views may be obstructed when dining at Sanaa. Guests with reservations received this notification.

The good news is that if you were hoping to catch a glimpse of the amazing wildlife- there are still animal viewing opportunities available.

Head over to the Savannah Outlook, which is adjacent to Sanaa, to see your favorite animals in their lush habitat.

Additional Disney World Resort Hotel Closures

In addition to Animal Kingdom Lodge’s temporary closure, the following hotels are closing for refurbishment in the remainder of 2024:

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

• Resort Refurbishments: Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas are currently undergoing refurbishment

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

• Barbados Leisure Pool: Closed from July 29 through the end of September 2024

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

• Bay Lake Tower Room Refurbishments: Rooms will be refurbished from September 2024 to September 2025

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

• Resort Refurbishments: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing refurbishment, with a redesigned lobby and rooms. 

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

• Island Tower: Opening December 17, 2024

Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter

• Room Refurbishments: From May 2024 to November 2024, some guest rooms will be under refurbishment.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

• Boulder Ridge Villas: Exterior refurbishment is happening from April through December 2024.
