WATCH: Elton John Reflects on His Legendary Life and Career in First ‘Elton John: Never Too Late’ Trailer
Last month, we reported that a new Elton John documentary was coming to Disney+.
Following the overwhelming success of Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, Disney’s partnership with the legendary singer will bear new fruit with the retrospective documentary.
Elton John: Never Too Late will follow the rock ‘n roll icon as he reflects on his legendary 50-year career in an “emotionally charged, intimate, and uplifting full-circle journey.”
“As he prepares for his final concert in North America at Dodger Stadium, Elton takes us back in time and recounts the extraordinary highs and heartbreaking lows of his early years and how he overcame adversity, abuse and addiction to become the icon he is today,” the film’s synopsis says.
Additionally, Never Too Late will feature a new original song from John.
The Latest Collaboration Between Disney and John
The new documentary, directed by R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, was the result of a collaboration between Disney Branded Television, Rocket Entertainment, and This Machine Filmworks.
Ahead of the film’s debut later this year, Disney has released the first trailer for Elton John: Never Too Late.
“I was desperately wanting happiness and going the completely wrong way about it,” John says in the clip. “It made me realize family was more important than anything.”
