Disneyland Resort Reaches Major Milestone With $1 Million in Grants to Local Nonprofit Organizations
Disneyland is celebrating a major milestone today, as the resort has officially given over $1 million in grants to local nonprofit organizations and school districts.
The community workforce development initiative was launched eight years ago with the goal of empowering job seekers and students through programming with school districts and nonprofit organizations.
In addition to lending financial support, Disney VoluntEARS lend their time and talents to mentorship programs, training workshops, skills development, and more.
To celebrate its recent milestone, Disneyland Resort is spotlighting its support of two organizations making a difference in the Anaheim community.
Caterina’s Club
First up, we have Caterina’s Club, an organization founded with the mission of providing warm meals, affordable housing assistance, and job training to homeless and low-income families.
Over the past twenty years, Caterina’s Club has been making a difference in Southern California. As the organization hopes to expand its workforce programming through its Hospitality Program, Disneyland’s support will give Anaheim high school students more opportunities to explore careers in the hospitality and service industries.
Disneyland Resort previously named Caterina’s Club the celebrated charity of the 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend.
Love Anaheim
Love Anaheim, which launched in 2016, will also receive a grant from Disneyland Resort this year. The organization’s mission is “spreading goodness and demonstrating kindness.”
To that end, Love Anaheim provides valuable resources to connect volunteers with service project opportunities in the City of Anaheim.
With the new funding from Disneyland, the organization will expand its Better Way Anaheim program, which provides skills training and services to community members experiencing homelessness.
Disneyland Resort recently collaborated with Love Anaheim to pack care kits for the Anaheim Inclement Weather Shelter Network and on park beautification projects.
Disneyland Continues to Give Back
As Disneyland prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary, the resort remains committed to giving back.
“Following the approval of DisneylandForward, our expanding investment in the Anaheim community and dedication to workforce development remains a top priority for us. That’s why we are so proud to continue supporting schools and nonprofits that are empowering the next generation of leaders,” said Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort. “The incredible work these organizations are doing to make a positive impact in our community is truly inspiring, and we are honored to support their efforts.”
