Beats and Strings Debut New Hindustani Raga Act at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
While Disney’s Animal Kingdom has some of the best attractions, breathtaking shows, and, of course, wildest creatures, what sets the park apart from other theme parks is its unique blend of real-world culture and Disney magic.
From the heights of the Himalayas to the savannas of Africa, Disney’s Animal Kingdom allows guests to immerse themselves in cultures, foods, and environments from around the world. That commitment to both education and theming extends to the park’s live entertainment.

With that in mind, I want to introduce you to Beats and Stings, the newest addition to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Animal Kingdom’s Newest Musical Act
The Hindustani Raga act features a tabla player and a sitar player who play authentic Hindustani classical melodies that provide a framework for improvisation.
Beats and Strings can be found in the Asia section of the park, performing throughout the day.
Each set that the duo performs is roughly twenty minutes long.

The Sounds of the Sitar Once Again Waft Through Disney’s Animal Kingdom
The new addition to Asia’s live entertainment roster fills the void left by the passing of Stephan Mikes. For years, Mikes played the sitar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom under the name Chakranadi.

Mikes tragically passed away last October at the age of 69.
