Johnny Depp Transforms Into Captain Jack Sparrow For Children’s Hospital Visit
Johnny Depp’s time in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise may have come to an end, but the actor still has Captain Jack Sparrow in him.
During a surprise appearance at the Donostia University Hospital in San Sebastian, Spain, Depp donned his iconic pirate garb to the delight of both the children’s patients and staff.
According to a report from US Weekly, Depp paraded through the pediatrics and oncology wards in character as Captain Jack Sparrow. He posed for pictures, interacted with the children, and brought smiles to faces throughout the hospital.
Following Depp’s visit, the hospital took to social media to thank the actor.
“From Osakidetza, and especially from all the staff of the Donostia University Hospital, we would like to express our infinite gratitude to Johnny Depp for his time, his support and his energy,” the facility wrote in Spanish on X.

Depp Was In Town to Promote His Latest Film
Depp visited the hospital while in town for the premiere of his movie Modi, Three Days on the Wing of Madness. While Depp does not act in the film, he does serve as director and producer.

With Disney seemingly set to reboot the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, it does not look like Depp will set sail again as Captain Jack Sparrow.
However, as his recent appearance in character shows, Depp can still channel the loveable scoundrel when the occasion calls.
