Disneyland Gate Replacement to Begin Soon
Earlier this year, Disneyland Resort announced that it would be phasing out turnstiles and introducing new automated entry gates at Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney.
The new gates were designed to be ADA-compliant and allow ECVs, wheelchairs, and strollers to pass through.
Additionally, they will have touchpoints for MagicBand+ and allow guests to scan their tickets and take photos.

“We continue to invest in the overall guest experience, and our updated, enhanced entry gates will really elevate the process of arriving at our theme parks,” Kevin Gidden, General Manager of Arrival Experience, said at the time. “The test entry gate installed at Disney California Adventure Park will enable our teams to get hands-on experience that will help inform the final install beginning later this year.”
Work Will Begin October 7
While the $4.8 million project is not expected to be completed until 2025, according to a new report from Scott Gustin, work will begin “in earnest” on October 7.

To minimize the impact on guests’ experience, Disneyland will be replacing the gates in phases,
On October 7, the first set of entry gates at Disneyland Park will close to facilitate the installation of the new gates. According to Gustin, the first affected gates will be on the park’s west side.
