Hurricane Helene Causes the Disney Fantasy to Make a Last-Minute Itinerary Change
With Hurricane Helene wreaking havoc in the Atlantic Oceans, the Disney Fantasy has been forced to change its itinerary.
Originally, the Fantasy was set to stop at Grand Cayman on Tuesday as part of its previously scheduled itinerary. However, after tropical storm Helene dropped four to eight inches of rain on the island, those plans changed.
On the same day that the Fantasy was set to dock at Grand Cayman, the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands announced that the port was closing due to “the inclement weather caused by Potential Tropical Cyclone 92.”
According to a report from the Independent, instead of sailing towards Grand Cayman, the Disney Fantasy spent an extra day at sea before heading straight to its next destination. The ship arrived in Falmouth Jamaica on Wednesday and is now on its way to Disney Castaway Cay.
Disney Wonder Skips Stop at Noumea
The Disney Fantasy was not the only Disney Cruise Line ship to recently see its itinerary changed.
According to a report from The Street, The Disney Wonder, which is set to depart from Honolulu on October 3, has also made a change.
The ship was scheduled to make a short stop at Noumea, New Caledonia, on October 15. However, due to civil unrest on the island, those plans have changed, and the Wonder will now spend the day at sea.
