Oil Leak Causes Disneyland Park to Open Late Today
Disney World and Disneyland Resort work hard to keep the parks on schedule, but some events make that nearly impossible.
This week has been the perfect example, with Disney World shutting down various operations and events in anticipation of Hurricane Helene. And that’s not all–Disneyland Park experienced its own operational issues today.
Disneyland Park Oil Leak
Disneyland Park should have opened at 8AM today–as it usually does–but instead, crowds were met with closed gates. The delayed opening created more crowding than usual in the esplanade, leaving many wondering what was wrong. (Disney California Adventure was unaffected and opened on time.)
Eventually, guests were allowed in following a 10-minute delay, which the Orange County Register has attributed to an oil leak from a street scrubber vehicle on Main Street, U.S.A. Once allowed in, guests were routed away from Main Street, U.S.A.
We’re glad Disney took the appropriate precautions to keep guests safe! We’ll keep an eye out for more Disneyland Resort news, so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com.
