ICONIC DISNEY SNACKS: Tonga Toast from Capt. Cook’s
Do you ever find yourself wondering what snacks are worth your money in Disney World? If so, you’ll want to check out our recent series of reviews!
We’ve been reviewing iconic Disney World snacks so you know what you absolutely must try while in the resort. So far, we’ve revisited classics like the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a Turkey Leg from Magic Kingdom, and the Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Pulled Pork from Disney’s Animal Kingdom. And now, we’re heading over to a resort hotel to check out their wildly popular breakfast item!
Tonga Toast
Tonga Toast is one of the most iconic breakfast items you can find around the resort. You can grab it from Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! (It’s also available at Kona Island, but it can be more expensive over there.)
It’s banana-stuffed sourdough bread, battered, deep-fried, and dusted with cinnamon sugar, served with bacon or sausage. If you want some syrup, you’ll need to grab it from the condiment bar (you’ll definitely want to get some.) We like dipping our toast in the syrup, but if you’re a fan of a traditional syrup pour-over, you can do that too!
The portion size, you guys. It’s huge making it a great way to prepare for the long day ahead…or a perfect sharable snack. (You can never go wrong with a block of French toast.)
The outside is crispy while the inside is fluffy–what more could you ask for? Well, actually, we’d ask for more banana filling to get the perfect ratio of bread to filling, but it’s still amazing regardless.
Overall, we recommend grabbing this if you’re passing through the resort hotel! And we’re not done reviewing all the iconic snacks around the resort, so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com.
