runDisney Announces New 2025 Walt Disney World Marathon Course and Earlier Start Time

As crazy as it sounds, we are now just 105 days away from the 2025 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.

Taking place at the Most Magical Place on Earth from January 8 through January 12, next year’s Walt Disney World Marathon is promising magic in every mile.

In addition to the four different races, next year’s marathon weekend will feature the 20th anniversary of Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge and, of course, the Dopey Challenge, which takes guests through all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

With just over 100 days to go until the big event, runDisney sent an email to marathon runners this morning, explaining some changes to next year’s races.

An Earlier Start Time and a New Course

According to the email, the 2025 Walt Disney World Marathon will start at 4:30 AM instead of its traditional start time of 5:00 AM. According to Disney, the change was made to allow them to include more theme parks on the course.

Speaking of the race course, next year’s marathon will start at World Showcase in EPCOT. Runners will also now pass Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as they travel along the Seven Seas Lagoon toward Magic Kingdom.

This will be the first year the race uses the new walkway between the Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom.

The 2025 Walt Disney World Marathon

I, for one, can’t wait to see how next year’s Walt Disney World Marathon plays out! Between the new course and the incredible finisher medals, it is sure to be an event to remember!
