A Royal Return: The King Triton Statue Has Been Reinstalled in Fantasyland
After nearly a year-long absence, King Triton is once again presiding over his subjects in Fantasyland.
Last October, the large King Triton statue located in Fantasyland, across from Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, was unceremoniously removed.
The statue of Ariel’s father, majestically holding his trident, was found near the Disney Vacation Club stand, looking out on the area’s main walkway.
While Disney never explained the statue’s removal, many fans commented on how rundown and dirty the figure looked before King Triton’s disappearance.
For nearly a year, the king of Atlantis has been missing.
The King Has Returned
I am happy to report that the king has returned, and guests can find the regal sculpture in Fantasyland once again.
When visiting Magic Kingdom today, we were thrilled to see King Triton reinstalled in his rightful place.
Over the last year, the statue has been refurbished and cleaned up.
King Triton has never looked better!
Here is a closer look at the figure. It may be a small detail, but it’s great to see Atlantis’s ruler return.
