Orlando-Area Home Owned By Disney Legend Dick Nunis Has Hit the Market For $10 Million
An Orlando-area home that belonged to Disney Legend Dick Nunis has hit the market.
A towering figure in Disney Parks history, Nunis passed away last year at the age of 91. He joined Disney on July 17, 1955, just before the opening of Disneyland, and eventually worked his way up the ranks.
In 1971, Nunis was named executive vice president of Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Under his watchful eye, Disney’s Florida resort would come to life and open on October 1, 1971.

In 1980, Nunis was named president of the Outdoor Recreation Division, overseeing Magic Kingdom, EPCOT Center, and eventually the Disney-MGM Studios. As a member of the Walt Disney Productions Board of Directors, he also consulted on plans for Euro Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland.

In 1991, Nunis constructed a new home in Orlando.
Puesta del Sol
Named Puesta del Sol, Nunis’ dream home was inspired by Disney’s first animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

According to the house’s listing, 75 individual works of art inspired by 12 artists are incorporated into the house. The observatory windows, for example, feature images of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs designed by legendary Imagineer John Hench. Other Disney flourishes include a photo of Walt Disney on the wall in the house’s home theater and Mickey ears atop the copper cappuccino maker.

The property also features a 750-square-foot pool, complete with a rainbow bridge and swim-up bar. Other amenities include an underground garage, a steam room, a sauna, and a wine cellar.
