Dick Van Dyke Skips Emmys and Upcoming Public Appearance
Dick Van Dyke is a beloved and talented performer and entertainer who has appeared on numerous television, movies, and stage productions throughout his illustrious career.

Recently, the 98-year-old Van Dyke has been noticeably missing from multiple engagements concerning fans.
He most recently missed the 2024 Emmy Awards and just canceled an upcoming appearance at a fan event.
Cancelled Appearance
Dick Van Dyke, 98, has canceled another planned public appearance after skipping the 2024 Emmys on Sept. 15.
Van Dyke, who turns 99 in December, was scheduled to make an appearance at the three-day FanX event in Salt Lake City, Utah, from September 26th to 28th.

The event organizers announced earlier today that he sadly had to cancel.

He expresses his gratitude to all of those who continue to support him but, at almost 99 years of age, traveling and interacting with thousands of people is more than he is able to do at this time.
2024 Creative Arts Emmys
Van Dyke’s most recent public appearance was earlier this month at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmys. His CBS special “Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic” won for Outstanding Variety Special.

The star took pictures, joked with photographers, and smiled for the cameras while sitting in a chair with an Emmy statue in his hand. However, Van Dyke himself did not take home an Emmy as he was not credited as a producer.
He joked about needing work and also shared how he wanted to be remembered simply for his laughter.
