‘The Golden Bachelorette’ Joan Vassos Made Her Broadway Debut in Disney’s ‘Aladdin’
Joan Vassos was introduced to the world in the inaugural episode of The Golden Bachelorette on Wednesday night. One day later, she made her Broadway debut on September 19 for a surprise one-night-only appearance in Disney’s Aladdin.
According to BroadwayWorld, in the special performance of Aladdin, Vassos played the matchmaking Fortune Teller, acting alongside Adi Roy’s Aladdin and Sonya Balsara’s Jasmine. After meeting the cast and crew before the curtain rose, Vassos admitted that she was nervous.
“I’m so lucky that I get to do this when there are people all over the world whose dream this is, and I get to be here one night because I was on this reality TV show,” Joan told Cosmo. “I’m also incredibly excited and a little nervous! I don’t usually get very nervous, but this is maybe one of the scariest things I’ve ever done.”
“BEST DAY EVER”
As the performance drew to a close, the entire company gathered on stage for a bow. Michael James Scott, who has become legendary for his performance as Genie in the show, asked Vassos if she would “accept these roses” before presenting her with a grandiose bouquet.
Following her debut, Aladdin took to Instagram to congratulate Vassos on her debut.
“Congratulations on your one night only, surprise Broadway debut, @joan_vassos! 🌹✨ May your heart’s wish come true in this season of @thegoldenbacheloretteabc! 🧞♂️✨ #bachelornation #thegoldenbachelorette,” they captioned the post.
