National Hurricane Center is Watching a New System That May Affect Florida
As hurricane season continues, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring two systems that could impact weather in the coming days.

Remnants of former Tropical Storm Gordon remain in the Atlantic and are being watched again. This system could redevelop, while a new area of interest is also forming and closer to Florida.
Low-Pressure System
According to the NHC, a broad area of low pressure may form this weekend over the northwestern Caribbean Sea.

This system has a low chance of developing in the short term at just 20% in the next seven days.
Though it is too early to determine the intensity and path of this system, national and local weather teams are closely monitoring it.

Gordon, which was previously a tropical storm, is also being watched again for possible development throughout the week. The system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
The NHC reports that potential development is at 30% over the next 48 hours and 60% over the next seven days.

Forecast models are divided on the future path of these two systems. The European model suggests moving westward toward Mexico or Texas, while the GFS model shows stronger development and a possible turn northward.
This progression could impact Florida.
