Disney Cast Member Makes Wishes Come True With ‘Star Wars’-Themed Wish Event in Disneyland
All around the world, Disney Cast Members dedicate their careers to making the magic happen — and to making wishes come true!
For event manager Tracy Martindale, it’s all in a day’s work!

As an event manager for Disneyland Resort, Tracy works her extraordinary magic behind the scenes.
Throughout her 30-year career, this inspiring Disney Cast Member has coordinated incredible events including grand openings and radio and television broadcasts. Thanks to her dedication and creative vision, events like the Make-A-Wish window dedication at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Power of Joy: Creator Summit have seen staggering success.

But for Tracy, there’s something EXTRA special about the Star Wars-themed wish event she headed up earlier this month.
Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. grants wishes for 19 children fighting critical illnesses in the first large-scale wish-granting event at Disneyland Resort – Blaze Your Path: A Star Wars Adventure.

Disney Cast Member Makes Wishes Come True
When Tracy heard about Disneyland’s Blaze Your Path: A Star Wars Adventure, she knew right away that she wanted to coordinate the out-of-this-galaxy experience.
After all, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has long held a special place in her heart! Over a decade ago, Tracy served as the non-profit’s Program Services Director in Southern Nevada, where she led the team responsible for granting wishes in the area.

“Having worked at Disneyland Resort for such a long time, I’ve seen many wishes taking place here,” she said. “The magic of a wish is so important. When I heard about this new wish event, I immediately offered to be the event manager.”
The extraordinary experience occurred last week in Disneyland, where 19 wish children and their families gathered for a once-in-a-lifetime Star Wars-inspired event.

The amazing adventure included an exciting scavenger hunt, extra-special experiences on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, droid-building, and even a lightsaber battle between Rey and Kylo Ren in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

Families were also invited to a private dinner and a super-sweet dessert party and show featuring honorable Jedi and nefarious Sith!
Thanks to Tracy and countless other Disney Cast Members, these 19 wish kids and their families enjoyed an unforgettable experience only Disney could deliver.

“It’s so magical to be able to walk into a wish family’s home and say ‘You’re going to Disneyland!’ and be a part of that, knowing how it’s going to help those children in their journey,” Tracy said. “My personal connection as a volunteer for Make-A-Wish gave me the insight needed to help develop a special experience for their wish kids and their families.”
