What Will Disney Be Like in February 2025?
Winter lasts from December 21st, 2024, through March 20th, 2025.
You’ll spend those months covered in layers, shopping for electric blankets, and sipping hot cocoa for warmth.
You might even make your coffee Irish so that the days will be a bit more bearable. Well, that’s Plan B.
I’m about to describe Plan A, the one that provides you several good reasons to spend part of the winter at Disney.
What will Disney be like in February 2025? Warmer than wherever you are right now. Need I say more? Well, just in case…
Visiting Disney in February
It’s warm. That’s enough.
Since this is Disney we’re discussing, there are plenty of other reasons to visit, though.
As you’re about to learn, festival season is well underway by the start of February.
In fact, if you’re lucky, you may catch two! I’ll explain in a bit.
Early 2025 is also an ideal reason to visit Disney for a different reason.
Several new attractions and experiences are only a year or two old.
Places like World Celebration Gardens, CommuniCore Hall & Plaza, and Dreamers Point are still quite new.
Meanwhile, Country Bear Jamboree and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in 2024.
During 2023, TRON Lightcyle / Run and Journey of Water | Inspired by Moana debuted as well.
So, you’ll find plenty of new stuff during an early 2025 Disney vacation!
Winter Wonderland
Then, we have the more pressing matter. Wherever you are, it’s either cold or dry. Orlando, Florida, is neither.
There’s a reason why generations of retirees have fantasized about moving to Florida.
The Sunshine State is weather-proof. That’s why it’s called the Sunshine State!
When you escape your home to visit Florida, you’re protecting yourself from shoveling your driveway or scraping your windshield.
In Central Florida, the average daily high temperature is 75 degrees, with a range of 60 to 83 degrees.
Meanwhile, the average low temperature is 56 degrees, with a range of 41 to 66 degrees.
So, you’ll only need a light jacket most of the time and often not even that. That’s better than snow, right?
Notably, you won’t face much rainfall either. On average, Orlando averages rain once every four days in February.
That’s why I say Disney won’t be dry the whole time, but it also won’t be wet enough to lower the temperatures significantly.
Instead, the odds suggest that you’ll be comfortable each day of your trip, which is something you probably can’t say at home!
What You Will Find at Disney in February?
While planning your vacation, you’ll have your choice of two different festivals.
The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will be available at the start of the month and last until around President’s Day.
At the time of publication, we lack an exact closing date, but it was February 19th in 2024.
Disney typically keeps the same schedule, although the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival deviated a bit in 2024.
Soon afterward, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will debut.
In 2024, its opening date was February 28th. So, based on recent Disney history, EPCOT will host festivals on 20 dates in February.
A well-timed, lengthy vacation could even provide access to both. You’d need to stay about ten days for this.
In return, you’d have your choice of Disney’s exclusive festival merchandise.
Many of these items will only be available during the event(s).
So, you’ll enjoy a brief window to shop for stuff that won’t be there next time.
Similarly, these festivals combine annual traditions and one-time-only food and drinks.
You may develop a few favorites that you anticipate each year.
In other instances, you may try something once and realize it’s never coming back. That’s the excitement of an EPCOT festival.
In addition to these festivals, you’ll find plenty more to relish during a February Disney trip.
Walt Disney World hosts several new attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and TRON Lightcycle / Run.
Then, we have others you may not have experienced like Country Bear Musical Jamboree.
So, you’ll find plenty to do during your trip.
What’s Happening in the Area in February?
Orlando has evolved into one of the top tourist destinations in America. So, you’ll always find plenty to do here.
That’s particularly true during the winter, as the locals pile on the entertainment to encourage people to escape their local weather.
People are looking for any excuse to escape to Florida, and event planners lean heavily into that fact.
For instance, Orlando on Broadway will host a new show in February.
A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical won’t be for everyone, but if you love genteel crooners, turn on your heartlight and enjoy.
Sports fans will have some intriguing options as well. The NFL season will have ended, but the NBA and NHL seasons will be well underway.
The Orlando Magic are ascending, while the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers are perennial favorites.
Thanks to the Brightline train system, you can ride to an out-of-city game or stay there to watch Paulo Banchero dazzle opponents and fans alike.
Those of you willing to take split vacations have a good reason to visit Universal Orlando Resort as well.
The Mardi Gras celebration runs from February 1st through March 30th.
In short, you’ll find plenty to do if you’re willing to leave the Disney Bubble. Personally, I rarely do, but it can be fun!
Final Thoughts
The way I see it, you have two choices in February.
You can stay where you are, hope that the groundhog doesn’t see his shadow, and pray that winter ends early.
Alternatively, you can head to sunny Orlando, Florida, and thereby become the envy of your ‘ohana.
You’ll vicariously live by your every social media post, as you show them the wonderful time you’re having at Disney.
The weather will be night and day better than where you live, and the parks will have Pirates of the Caribbean and Slinky Dog Dash.
That’s objectively better than anything you’ll find locally. So, go to Disney! Duh!
