Dick Van Dyke was noticeably missing from yesterday’s 2024 Emmy awards.
The legendary actor, 98 years old, was expected to attend the show after his special, Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic, won the award for outstanding variety special at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmys.

Missing Entertainment Legend
The 2024 Emmy awards were held last night at the Los Angeles Peacock Theater. Fans were looking forward to seeing Van Dyke as a presenter, but he did not attend and his absence is currently unknown.
On September 7, he attended the 2024 Creative Arts Emmys looking great in a black tuxedo, black bowtie, and white dress shirt. He attended with his wife, Arlene Silver.

At the time, Van Dyke posed on the red carpet, took pictures and joked with fellow photographers.
The Van Dyke special won the title of Outstanding Variety Special. However, Van Dyke himself did not take home an Emmy as he was not credited as a producer.
He did receive a separate Emmy earlier this year for his guest appearance as Timothy Robicheaux on Days of our Lives.
He is the oldest person to win a Daytime Emmy and also made history by becoming the oldest daytime Emmy nominee.
Van Dyke shared,
Thank you. I don’t believe this. I feel like a spy from nighttime television. I’m the oldest nominee in history. I’ve been playing old men all my life. If I’d known I was going to live this long I’d have taken better care of myself.
Legendary Career
Van Dyke has built one of the most legendary careers in Hollywood and his talent spans the stage, television, and screen. He has recently joked that he is still looking for work and plans on continuing his career.
