There has been some major construction happening over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort — let’s go take a look at the latest work being done!
Polynesian Village Resort Construction
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is currently adding a whole new section to the resort — the Island Tower, which will be a Disney Vacation Club property.

The tower is expected to open on December 17th of this year, and work seems to be moving along nicely!

You can see fencing design inside the construction outside like we’ve seen in the concept art.

And, we’ve seen some trees and shrubs added to the area, too.

There are a lot of exciting features coming to the tower, like exclusive access to four tropical terrace gardens.

These gardens will have artwork, foliage, and themed seating areas. They will look out to Disney’s Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses or the Seven Seas Lagoon.

We saw work happening on the new pool coming to the tower as well.

The Cove Pool will be a zero-entry pool and be open to guests of both the tower and regular Polynesian Village Resort.

Here’s another look:

Younger guests can enjoy the splash area of the pool, Moana’s Voyage, that will have life-size sculptures of Moana and her canoe!

We saw the canoe being worked on — how exciting!

There was also work happening on the new Wailulu Bar & Grill coming to the hotel. This will be on Seven Seas Lagoon and have indoor and outdoor seating.

It’ll be a great spot to see Cinderella’s Castle across the lagoon!

This is a poolside bar that will offer an all-day lunch and dinner menu inspired by the flavors of Polynesia. There will also be specialty coffee and pastries available for breakfast.

The bungalows on the water at the resort are being worked on as well.

We saw a lot of outside work happening…

…with scaffolding up around the bungalows…

…and workers moving about.

We also noticed construction on the entrance sign to the resort…

…and the roof of the Hawaii Longhouse.

There are some flags up on the roof!

And, the Fiji building has been painted green.

Here’s a look at the walled-off areas where construction is happening.

There are some detour signs to help you out!
