UPDATE: Oklahoma City Police Recover Stolen ‘Disney on Ice’ Wigs
Earlier today, we brought you the news that Oklahoma City Police were asking the public for help after wigs set to be used during Disney On Ice‘s weekend performances were stolen.
Surveillance footage released by the police department shows an adult male taking the wigs and putting them in his backpack.
“Take a good look at the person in the video. This past Saturday, several wigs were stolen which belonged to the theatrical performers for Disney on Ice. The theft resulted in thousands of dollars of loss. Larceny Investigators are asking for the public’s help getting the suspect identified,” the department said in a Facebook post.
Police Have Recovered the Wigs
Just hours after the surveillance video was released, Oklahoma City Police say they have recovered the wigs, which are said to have cost tens of thousands of dollars.
“It’s unclear at this point if the person knew these wigs were in there or if this was somebody who wandered into one of the buildings,” Sgt. Dillon Quirk told KOCO 5.
According to Dinsey on Ice, the wigs are “crucial to maintaining the enchanting and authentic appearance of our beloved characters.”
While police recovered most of the wigs, no arrests have yet to be made.
“Step one is identifying them and possibly making an arrest,” Quirk said.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 405-235-7300 or submit a tip online.
