Oklahoma City Police Seek Assistance in ‘Disney on Ice’ Wigs Theft
The Oklahoma City Police Department is asking for help identifying a suspect who was caught on camera stealing a collection of wigs.
The hairpieces were supposed to be used during an upcoming Disney on Ice performance at the Oklahoma State Fair.
According to police, the wigs were worth thousands of dollars.
“Take a good look at the person in the video. This past Saturday, several wigs were stolen which belonged to the theatrical performers for Disney on Ice. The theft resulted in thousands of dollars of loss. Larceny Investigators are asking for the public’s help getting the suspect identified,” the police department said in a Facebook post.
The Theft Was Caught on Camera
Earlier today, police released a video of the theft, which shows the suspect removing wigs from mannequins and stashing them in his backpack.
In spite of the theft, the Disney on Ice: Magic in the Stars performances are set to continue at the Oklahoma State Fair. The shows will take place Thursday through Monday at the Jim Norick Arena.
Disney on Ice: Magic in the Stars follows Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy as they embark on a journey through some of Disney’s most timeless stories.
Along the way, audiences will experience the tales of Cinderella, Aladdin, Toy Story, Encanto, Frozen 2, and more! The show also features Raya’s on-ice debut.
