Runner Dies After Crossing the Finish Line at the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon
Tragedy unfolded at the 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon last weekend when a runner died shortly after completing the runDisney race.
Caleb Graves, a 33-year-old runner, had just crossed the finish line when he went into cardiac arrest. Though Anaheim Fire & Rescue personnel were able to quickly provide medical assistance, an hour later, Graves was dead.
“The runner crossed the finish line. As soon as he did, one of the workers at the marathon noticed the gentleman was clutching his chest,” Sgt. Matt Sutter told EW. “They noticed he was going into cardiac arrest.”
