5 Underrated Relaxing Spots at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World is known for its thrilling rides, immersive experiences, iconic characters, and bustling crowds.
While your Disney vacation is filled with plenty of fun, it can also be overwhelming.

We’ve all been there—that moment when you are hot and tired and just need a small break.
Maybe you need to escape the heat or just take a moment to recharge by yourself. Amid all the fun and excitement, Disney World boasts plenty of serene spots perfect for unwinding and relaxing.
Liberty Square Riverboat – Magic Kingdom
Nothing calms me quite like a quiet boat ride- the water, the gentle rocking, it is perfect.

Magic Kingdom can be one of the busiest parks, and hopping aboard the Liberty Square Riverboat is an easy way to get away from the crowds.
This riverboat cruise floats across the Rivers of America, offering stunning views of Frontierland, Liberty Square, and Tom Sawyer Island. It is a great way to relax and take in the park’s lush scenery and historical theming.

MickeyBlog Tip: Take a break mid-afternoon (2-4 p.m.), after spending time in Fantasyland or Adventureland to let the kids relax in the shade while enjoying the views. For a quieter experience, head here at night and find a spot on the upper deck.
Nomad Lounge – Animal Kingdom
Located on Discovery Island next to Tiffins Restaurant, Nomad Lounge is a great place where relaxation is practically guaranteed.

The combination of cozy seating, quiet ambiance, and scenic views make it a great place to escape Animal Kingdom’s excitement.
I love stopping here for a bite or a drink while unwinding. The menu features an array of refreshing cocktails, coffees, and non-alcoholic beverages, along with small bites inspired by global flavors.

MickeyBlog Tip: Stop by in the late morning or early afternoon before the lunch crowds arrive. A seat on the outside pastio or by the window offers the perfect peaceful ambiance and a bit more seclusion.
France Pavilion Gardens – Epcot
World Showcase at EPCOT can be overstimulating at times, but there is something that is instantly peaceful for me in the France Pavilion Gardens.

With a replica of the Eiffel Tower, beautiful flowers, and charming French architecture, this spot is a slice of Paris in the middle of Disney.
Sit on a bench and enjoy ice cream, a baguette, or a colorful macaron while taking in the scene. It is a great place to recharge.

MickeyBlog Tip: Pick up some pastries or treats from Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie nearby and enjoy a mini snack while unwinding with the family.
Rafiki’s Planet Watch – Animal Kingdom
Visiting Animal Kingdom? If you are looking for a place to have fun but enjoy a slightly slower pace, Rafiki’s Planet Watch is a must-do.

Hop on the Wildlife Express Train to this quiet area of the park for a calmer environment filled with educational exhibits about animal care and conservation.
The Conservation Station is a great place to learn about Disney’s animal care efforts. A Veterinarian Treatment room, nutrition center, and other facilities will show how Disney cares for its animals.

Here is one of my favorite ways to keep the kids entertained when they need a break: visit the Affection Section petting zoo, which lets kids get up close to friendly animals.
MickeyBlog Tip: You must take the train to get to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. The last train leaves Harambe Station at 4:30 PM, so plan accordingly.
Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover- magic Kingdom
This is my go-to ride for a mellow experience and, honestly, one of my favorite rides overall. It is the perfect option when you want to sit down and relax but still enjoy a ride.

Experience the transportation of the future while relaxing in an open-air and breezy attraction on the PeopleMover.
The best part? The attraction is constantly moving, only about 10 minutes long, and there are usually short lines (if any) to deal with.

MickeyBlog Tip: This attraction is rarely affected by the weather, has no health and safety advisories, and has no height restrictions for riding, making it a great place to relax for the majority of guests.
